Help Center For Webmasters
Hand the site over to the business owner
The day the site is finished: check it, show it, agree who pays the website, and either hand the login to the owner or stay on as their webmaster for a monthly care fee.
Before you start
- iNterGine has e-mailed you the site's address and your admin login.
- You and the owner agreed your fee (the Toolkit has a simple agreement).
Before you show it
Step 1. Open every page on a phone and on a computer. Names, phone numbers, addresses, prices and opening hours must be right.
Step 2. Send yourself a message through the site's contact form, then check it arrived (Forms › Results).
Show it to the owner
Step 3. Show the owner their site on their own phone. Make the small changes they ask for together.
Step 4. Agree who pays the website: $360 a year ($30 a month), paid on the site's own subscribe screen, either by the owner or by you inside an all-in-one price. A site nobody subscribes to closes by itself when its 30-day trial ends.
Choose one of two ways
Step 5. Hand it over (a one-time fee): change the password to one the owner chooses and put their e-mail address in My Profile, so password resets go to them. Then open this Help Center with them and show them Getting Started.
Step 6. Or keep caring for it (a monthly care fee): you stay the webmaster and make the updates: new photos, offers, opening hours, posts. Use the Toolkit's monthly care checklist.
Finish
Step 7. Send your invoice from the Invoice Maker, and keep a copy for your records.
Check it worked
Ask the owner to log in on their own phone while you watch: they see the ADMIN button. Then they can open the Help Center when they get stuck.
Good to know
- Most webmasters offer both ways and let the owner choose.
- Never keep an owner's site hostage: the site is theirs once they pay for it, and their domain name is registered in their own name.
- Send the owner a link to a help article instead of explaining on the phone.
